The only reason I said that was because it rhymed.
Another thing I said to Dale a few times was:
“Dale, guess what!”
And Dale replied, “What?”

After a few times, Dale didn’t reply to that question anymore – so I never asked it again.

My first memory of you, Eileen, is at Cold Spring Park one evening, well after sundown – maybe it was in The Twilight Zone – but, it really happened. It may have been during the summer of 1962 – the summer between 4th grade and 5th grade. You said Hi to me. So, I said Hi to you. We were in the area where the swings and things were.
Eileen, are you afraid of The Light ?
Is that why your very first words to me were in The Twilight ?
Our summer romance of 1974 ended in August. It is August again, Eileen – 49 years later. I’m still here; and you’re still here – in The Present. Today is August 22nd. You were 21 in August of 1974. I was 22.

Went on a walk through Woonsocket’s North End yesterday in the early evening. Actually, I went Left of the North End, at first; then, finally into the North End by way of Harris Avenue and Meadow Road and Oakley Road and Glen Road and down to Spring Street where I met someone for the first time – at the corner of Spring Street and Blackstone Street. And we walked and talked for a while. But that was later on in my walk. I told him I got baptized in the building right there at the corner where we met – Spring and Blackstone Streets. He mentioned having lived in Los Angeles; so, I mentioned a cross-country bus trip I took that ended in Los Angeles – back in 1984. Down the road, we crossed the street at The Salvation Army building. On lower Main Street as we were parting ways told him my name. He asked me if I knew a certain person – because of my last name. “She’s my sister.” I told him. Then he mentioned something about her antique business – so, I realized he was referring to my sister-in-law – she has an antique business. I mentioned her maiden last name. He told me that’s his last name, too – but, he isn’t related to my sister-in-law.
“And they heard the sound of the LORD walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, ‘Where are you?’ And he said, ‘I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.’ He said, ‘Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?’ The man said, ‘The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.’ Then the LORD God said to the woman, ‘What is this that you have done?’ The woman said, ‘The serpent deceived me, and I ate.’” -Genesis 3: 8-13. Eileen was 21 in 1974 during that summer romance: “The Summer of ‘74” that ended sadly – as did Adam and Eve’s time in the garden of Eden.
We went separate ways. Something wasn’t right; and I didn’t know how to make it right – didn’t Eve(n) know what was wrong.
Eileen, guess what?

We were both wrong.
Three summers later she had a baby named Mary.
Many years later, if I understand things right, she married a man named Joseph.
And in first grade, Mark was in a little play with another Eileen – Eileen the First. This Eileen lived in the same neighborhood as Mark. My Dad gave her and her older brother Ronald a ride to school with us in the morning every school day. This Eileen was as pretty as Shirley Temple; however, at 7 years old I didn’t notice her prettiness. Her brother Ronald’s black motorcycle jacket was what I noticed – and his blue bag with the letters Y.M.C.A. is what I noticed in the car as we went to school. Ronald was one year ahead of Eileen the First and me in school. This was in 1958-’59 at St. Charles School – on Daniels Street. In the Bible, Daniel was a great prophet of the Lord God. All the years I was in school at St. Charles I knew nothing about Daniel the prophet. We had religion as the first class of the day every school day for 8 years; however, it wasn’t until the 8th grade that we began reading the Bible – and maybe only during the last few weeks of school. All the other years, I guess all we learned in religion class was Roman Catholic doctrine – the religion of Roman Catholicism. It seems to me, now, that the Roman Catholic Church didn’t want us to know God’s Word – the holy Scriptures – and didn’t want us to hear and understand and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Redeemer, “the Savior of all men – especially believers.” It seems to me, that the Roman Catholic Church wanted us to merely believe Roman Catholicism – which is NOT the truth of True God.
I was walking with that Eileen [Eileen the First] in the play as Joseph and Mary walking to the stable where Jesus would be born. This was at Christmastime in late 1958. But Mark — portraying Joseph — didn’t walk as Sister Mary Carlene told him to – he turned left when he and Eileen [as Joseph and Mary] were supposed to turn right. And Mary went with him. So, after he disobeyed twice, Sister Mary Carlene told him to take off Joseph’s robe [that Mark’s mother had made for this Christmas enactment in their first-grade classroom – a brown robe for Joseph and a blue robe for Mary]; and told him to give it to Michael Leja. So, Michael and Eileen, now walked together as Joseph and Mary to the stable. Remember, this was Eileen the First. Eileen the Second came to St. Charles School in September of 1961 — when 4th grade began. Eileen the First was no longer at St. Charles School after first grade. Her family moved away. And Mark – to this day at 71 years old — still does not know what happened to Eileen and her older brother Ronald. And he asked a few people if they knew what happened to them and nobody else knows, either. They had lived in a Quonset hut off Cass Avenue – it almost faced Sweet Avenue where Mark lived halfway up the street on the right side – but was behind a big tenement house that actually did face Sweet Avenue. The Quonset hut is still there in 2023 – but, the big tenement house is gone and has been replaced by another house.
Mark, in his little first-grader’s heart, didn’t want any part of this. He didn’t know why. He was only a first-grader. He just wasn’t in a co-operative state of mind. He didn’t understand it. Maybe his Lord God didn’t want Mark playing a part in a play. Maybe True God did not want Mark to become an actor, a pretender. Maybe, his Lord God had some other plan for Mark’s life that wasn’t about pretending and playing make-believe. Maybe the Lord God had another plan for Mark – to be real and honest and authentic and genuine – for the Lord God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Maybe the Lord God had in His mind for Mark to receive His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth and understanding [see Isaiah 11:2 ESV concerning the Spirit of the LORD] and to write the truth that the Lord God wants the world to hear and listen to and believe – so that the baby Jesus may be born again in their hearts and grow up – to the full stature of Christ-in-US the hope of glory – that We The People may become a people for Him – and members of His Family — the Family of God – in Spirit and in Truth – and not merely members of a worldly religion that teaches “another gospel” that is NOT the gospel of Jesus Christ – which is the gospel of God.

On the evening of August 17th, 2023, Mark walked up Clinton Street. His walk though took a different turn than usual. On lower Main Street he turned left and stood for a minute where the old train station and bus stop had been years ago – and recollected being there many times waiting for the Route 54 bus to North Smithfield. Dale was born in 1954. Then he turned onto Railroad Street and walked on the sidewalk where the railroad tracks are on the left and down below. He remembered walking this way often years ago – when Thundermist Health Center had been up ahead on Arnold Street – for his regular doctor appointments. Gail Clemons had been his nurse-practitioner there for many years. She looked like Eileen the Second – blonde and pretty. When he reached Arnold Street though he didn’t turn right – as he had done in the past – the way to Thundermist. He stopped at the intersection and looked left. Just a little way up that way was Bentley Street. He remembered his dad at work sometimes saying he was going to Radio Shack for parts for his TV and radio sales and service business – when Mark was working at the shop in the 1960s. His first job as a young teenager – working with Dad. Radio Shack had been at the corner of Arnold and Bentley Streets for some years. And Mark had also been on Bentley Street once near the end of his 8 years going to St. Charles School. Michael and his cousin Richard Leja – who were both in his class at St. Charles for all those 8 years – had lived on that street – and Mark and some other classmates had been in the two houses that were side-by-side where his two classmates had lived. So, on his walk last night, Mark walked on Bentley Street. It is a dead-end street and about 100 yards long. He stopped in front of the two white houses near the end of the street on the right. He thought they were the houses that Michael and his cousin Richard had lived in. Then he went to the very end of the street. He remembered having done this very thing many years ago – that time when he visited Michael and Richard with a few other classmates. Grossman Lumber had been out there – beyond the railroad tracks below him. Even this evening he could see some railroad cars out there beyond the trees – where Grossman Lumber Yard had been in the 1960s. Then he turned around and began walking back toward Arnold Street again. About halfway down the street he noticed a small dog sitting in a screened window on the right. So, he crossed the street and quietly approached that dog in the window. Remembering now that old song: “How Much Is that Doggy in the Window?” He even made a Hi sign to the dog twice. He didn’t get too close though. Small dogs can sometimes get to barking very loudly and Mark is sensitive to loud noises; so, he didn’t get too close. He made another Hi sign to the dog; and he may have even said Hi. The small dog said nothing. He only looked out through the screened window at Mark in silence. Remembering now another song: “The Sound of Silence.” When Mark reached Arnold Street again, he turned left and immediately stopped on the sidewalk in front of the house on the corner where Radio Shack, and later The Hobby Shop had been located. He looked up and counted the number of stories: 4 stories high. He also felt some stiffness in his 71-year-old neck from looking up. He recalled having seen model cars in the window of that store many years ago. Then he resumed his walk and reached Railroad Street again. Then he turned left and walked toward Harris Avenue. He had memories of this neighborhood from having driven through it many times during his 2 years working at Bonte Spinning on Fairmount Street in 1970-72 – where he met Andree Mailloux. She was the first girl Mark ever dated – during the summer of 1970 – a month after graduating from Woonsocket High School on June 12th. And in 1978, Andree and Mark were corresponding by letters; and Andree was telling Mark in her letters about having been born again as a Christian 5 years earlier – through her own brother, Marc Mailloux’s testimony to her of his faith in Jesus Christ. And so, Mark began reading his Bible with a new insight and understanding about the gospel and Jesus Christ [that he never got during his 8 years in religion class] from Andree’s letters and her quotations from the Bible. And in April of that year – 1978 — Mark visited Andree at Westminster Theological Seminary in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania – just outside of Philadelphia. And 5 days later, Mark came home a born again Christian – and got baptized at Blackstone Valley Baptist Church – which, at that time was at the corner of Spring Street and Blackstone Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Robert Lee Lewis, the pastor – who was from Oklahoma — baptized Mark on May 14th, 1978 after the Sunday service. Mark didn’t realize it at the time, but May 14th, 1978, was the 30th anniversary of the founding of The State of Israel. And Andree’s mother was in attendance in the congregation. Paulette Mailloux. And she had known my dad when they were children.

And the people who walk in spiritual darkness continue to vote these wolves in sheep’s clothing into office. Politics is to government what cancer is to the body. Politics is to government what foxes are to the hen house. Politics is to government what Al Capone was to Chicago in the 1920s. Politics is to government what the Serpent was in the garden of Eden to Eve. Taking public prayer to True God out of the public school system was to the United States of America a work of spiritual castration. And ungodly, secular Politics continues to be a slaughterhouse to our Government and our Nation and Her People. And this ungodliness is spreading all over the earth by way of the world system – the corrupt corporate state of Babylon the great harlot mentioned in the Bible. Women should not be offended by this – because Babylon the great harlot is not actually a woman – she is a city on earth.

That rudder is under the control of ungodly secular unbelief. Unbelief is a weakling. She is completely powerless because of her disconnection from True God. She cannot do The Right Thing. Only by repenting and turning to True God can the rudder of The Ship of State be freed and the Unites States of America become A Nation Under True God’s Authority to Do THE RIGHT THING — and sail to Victory – True God’s Victory. Economic sanctioning is no way to administer justice. Only God Almighty knows how to administer True Justice. Only True God is the way and the truth and the life. Only by being grafted into Him, The Vine, can the USA do Divine Things in the power and authority of our True God for His Glory in His Divine Service.
