Being a good listener is a good thing. It’s good for relationship. It demonstrates sincerity of heart when you take the time to listen – and you’re not too quick to answer back. Answering back very quickly can make the same kind of impression as hitting a tennis ball back as quick as possible – without taking any time at all to examine what was just sent to you and showing some real interest in what you just received.
Good listeners are gentle and peaceful and patient and kind to others.
They are virtuous.
They are God’s Children

Samantha has the word man right there in the middle of her beautiful name.

Samantha is Three Times a Lady.
And the last letter of her name is A
And A is at the Center of her name.
And our country’s name – America – begins and ends with an A.

A very beautiful song comes to mind about someone named Amanda and I like to think of Samantha when listening to it . . .

There is a beautiful young lady who works at a store.
And her name might be Samantha. She uses a nickname.
I don’t know anything about her.
Don’t even know if she’s married.
And, at my age of 73 – and feeling like a 73-year-old car – I understand I wouldn’t be a good “catch” for a beautiful young lady who has her life ahead of her – while mine is looking forward to the life hereafter.
So, I just write now.
There is this sure hope, though, about “getting older.”

Maybe I shouldn’t be writing about this. Look what happened last summer when I met someone while walking. And then I wrote about her. And then I met her again – and told her I’d written about her and gave her the address of the blog. And that seems to have ended things before the love story unfolded.
But writing is what I do. And Christians are to live in the light – not in the darkness.
