Are The Writers of Worldly News Off Topic ?

Is there something else now . . .

Something much more important than all that is going down in the world ?

Are they paying attention to “those and that” which are all passing away ?

Is the whole world’s attention being diverted from what is Most Important ?

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,

And the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

“Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

1 Corinthians 1: 18-25 ESV Study Bible.

“Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”               1 Corinthians 2: 6-8. ESV.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” -1 John 2: 15-17. ESV Study Bible.

“The Lord gives the word;

The women who announce the news are a great host:

“The kings of the armies—they flee, they flee!”

The women at home divide the spoil—

Though you men lie among the sheepfolds—

The wings of a dove covered with silver,

   Its pinions with shimmering gold.

When the Almighty scatters kings there,

Let snow fall on Zalmon.” -Psalm 68: 11-14. ESV Study Bible.
