“Waking-Up the Wicked – To the Righteousness of God”

Are we not all – every one of us — wicked?

For example: Isn’t Abortion Wicked?

Is it not an abomination to God that lawmakers have written and passed laws legalizing this killing of unborn babies? Is it not an abomination that healthcare workers and facilities are permitted to do this homicidal violence to the most vulnerable and defenseless of all human beings – and that health insurance is permitted to pay those who commit this atrocity millions of times? Is it not an abomination that a nation is proud of their freedom to kill their own unborn children?

“Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” -Romans 10:1-4. ESV Study Bible.

Please bear with me: “there is a method to my madness” – to quote an old saying.

This writing is of a psychological and spiritual nature.

Like the world we are living and suffering in, it has many layers.

It is a mysterious thing, these human lives we are all living.

In order to rightly appreciate this vast human experience that we are journeying through, we must seriously consider what is going on and how we ought to respond to it – and in order to respond well, we must see clearly – and become disillusioned from the illusions that confuse our minds and leave us feeling helpless as mere victims in a horrible scenario that is overtaking us like a global storm.

We need a beacon for our eyes – the eyes of our understanding, that is – and we need an anchor for our souls – so that the global storm does not overtake us and overwhelm us and drive us away into oblivion.

This post is intended to give light to those who need light; and to give a sure anchor to those who need an anchor.

The following may seem like a change of subject from what has just been written above. Please bear with the writer; there is a reason for this diversion. It is to help you understand – so that you can rightly appreciate more of this mystery of life that we are all embarked on – like the passengers aboard The Titanic. Remember, many of them survived by doing the right thing; others just gave up and sunk with that glamorous and very impressive-looking doomed ship. The survivors were the ones who were willing to get out of that seemingly unsinkable and magnificent ship and get into the humble little lifeboats.

“In the Kitchen”

I was in my kitchen very early this morning – about 3:30 – beginning to cook my simple little breakfast: oatmeal and Cheerios. And I was not only doing the cooking; I was also aware that I was “in the tradition” of cooking. That awareness of what I was doing made a difference in my appreciation of the activity of making breakfast. What I mean is this: we can do things unconsciously or we can do things in the awareness – the light of understanding — of what is really going on. I felt better as I was cooking “in the light” of the tradition of cooking than I would have felt if I had merely and unconsciously cooked it. Being in the awareness of the tradition of cooking made me feel like I was not all alone in my pantry – I was also, spiritually-speaking, with the likes of Martha Stewart and Julia Child and every mother cooking breakfast for all her little ones to help them be ready and able to live their lives that day with the strength and nourishment they need to do what they are called upon to do today.

The wicked need to be awakened so they can see themselves as God sees us wicked folks; so they can realize why it will do them no good to remain as they are in their merely natural-born state of being – trusting in themselves – or in worldly things – and being deceived by “the god of this age” by listening to him – rather than listening to the true God and believing in the Savior of all men, especially believers [believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ, that is].

False religion won’t save you.

Trusting in your sinful self won’t save you.

Hardening your heart and being stubborn and silent will not save you.

Your friends will not save you.

Being smart and educated won’t save you.

Having money won’t save you.

Your wife can’t save you.

Your husband can’t save you.

Your children can’t save you.

Good works can’t save you.

Talking back against God and His Word can’t save you.

Resigning yourself to damnation and going to hell can’t save you.

Giving up to drugs – even prescription drugs can’t save you.

Sex can’t save you.

Cigarettes and wine and beer and whiskey can’t save you.

Being careless and heartless can’t save you.

Getting mad won’t save you.

Being a loner won’t save you.

Being miserable won’t save you.

Suicide won’t save you.

Becoming cruel won’t save you.

Being hateful and vengeful toward others won’t save you.

Teaching others lies – like religious doctrines of demons – or Evolution and the philosophies of men – will not save you.

Yoga won’t save you.

Nirvana can’t save you.

Entertainment won’t save you.

Reading endless books won’t save you.

Being well-informed about what is going on in the world will not save you.

Politics will not save you.

Politics will not save our Country.

So-called healthcare and prescription drugs will not save you.

Worldly wisdom will not save you.

Man cannot save himself.

Rejecting the Gospel of God will not save you.
