Believing In Yourself ? . . . hmmm
What’s wrong with that ?
It is the way of being self-deceived.
It is the way of selfishness
And
Self-Centeredness.
If a rosebud believed in itself
It wouldn’t care to blossom.
It would be so content with itself as only an unfulfilled bud.
If an acorn believed in itself . . .
It wouldn’t care to become a tree.
It would merely fall to the ground and be gobbled up by a squirrel.
The way of self-centeredness
Is the way downward.
It is hopeless.
It is faithless.
It doesn’t have a future.
It is an end-in-itself.
It’s going nowhere.
Without faith in the One True God
We don’t have a prayer.
Only the way of faith in the Son of God
Leads Upward
Heavenward
By the grace of God through faith in the Son of God – Jesus Christ —
And receiving the Helper, His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth and Understanding.
“Those without the Spirit are none of His.”
“You however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” -Romans 8: 9-11. “Believe in the Light and become children of Light,” Jesus said.
Amen.
“So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” -John 12: 35, 36 ESV Study Bible.

“Apart from me you can do nothing.”
Let Christ Be On the Throne of Your Heart
Only in that Way can you be saved from increasing selfishness and self-centeredness.
As Jesus said:
“I am the way and the truth and the life.”
Jesus wasn’t bragging.
Every word He said was given to Him by His heavenly Father.
He was only obediently preaching by the Holy Spirit.
And He Is the God Almighty-ordained Living Word of God.
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord.
Make his paths straight.”
Believing the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us how to make our paths straight.
And thus prepared for His Second Coming and —
The Rapture of Believers off the face of the earth —
So they don’t suffer the Great Tribulation that is coming upon the world that lies in wickedness.

The deceitfulness of sin hardens the selfish, self-centered heart, making it like a stone that is incapable of enjoying the Life of Christ that will bring about newness of life in the new heavens and the new earth; and the glorious regeneration of the bodies of believers at the time of the resurrection.
If you choose to become a true believer on the Son of God — the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ — all these blessings – including eternal life – will be given to you.
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” -1 John 5: 4, 5. ESV Study Bible.
