In the New Heavens and the New Earth . . . ?

Wondering what it will be like . . .

Will there be a Woonsocket, Rhode Island ?

A Sweet Avenue ?

Will Me mere Wilbur be the landlady at 74-76-80 Sweet Avenue once again ?

Will she be cultivating her garden – just like before ?

Growing tomatoes and cucumbers and radishes and rhubarb again?

Will the Cote’s and their cousins the Desjardins be back living in the house at the corner of Elm Street ?

Will the Mandeville’s be there, too – on the second floor of Mrs. Cote’s property ?

And Mrs. Aubin – before the Mandeville’s moved there ?

I still remember Mrs. Aubin walking up the driveway speaking to herself about something that really upset her.

Will the Lambert’s come by to visit their grandmother, Mrs. Cote, on Sunday evenings once again ?

Mrs. Cote was also the owner of the building where my dad’s radio and TV business was located on Elm Street – in between Johnny the Cobler and Mr. Farland’s grocery store.

Will Mrs. Massie be teaching piano again – and her husband operating his printing business up the driveway in their backyard on Sweet Avenue.

And Mr. Ayotte who lived in the Barrette’s house also had a printing business on Hebert Avenue – the next street after Sweet Avenue. At lunch time, he would walk back home. He had only one arm due to an accident in his printing shop, someone told me. And his daughter, Jackie Ayotte, would visit with my mom on summer mornings having tea. She was married and living in Florida with her Cuban husband and two sons. During the summer she and her young sons would return to Woonsocket for an extended vacation. She and my mom grew up together as neighbors and were childhood friends living on Sweet Avenue in the 1930s and 1940s.

Are we all looking forward to what comes next ?
