Ashley Moved Her Tent

It’s near the wall again

And that wall is just to the right of the mural of the flag of

The United States of America

I was surprised a few days ago

To see Ashley’s Tent

Pitched away from the wall

With a storm coming that night

It was all by itself enduring the strong winds and rain –

With Ashley Inside

All by herself.

I was praying for her last night . . .

And it stood all through the night

In the morning I saw it first thing

With dad’s binoculars

Looking out my windows.

Today –

She moved it back to the wall.

And I saw something else this morning:

Ashley came out of her tent

She was wrapped in a blue cloak

She walked across Social Street

And across Clinton Street

She stopped on the sidewalk

She may have been standing at a telephone pole where there was a bus stop sign.

There was also a man standing there, too.
