What Happened to Ashley ?

When I woke up this morning after sunrise

I looked out my windows and saw Ashley’s tent.

It was located in the same spot as last night.

However, when I looked again a while later

Her tent was all gone.

And then I noticed a different tent had been erected about 30 feet to the left of where Ashley’s tent had been.

This tent was brown.

Ashley’s tent was green – with a deep sky-blue tarpaulin covering it.

And it looked larger than Ashley’s tent.

My location is about 3 football fields away.

If I didn’t have binoculars, I would not be able to make these observations.

Then, a while later, I saw a man and a woman working at that brown tent.

The woman did not look exactly like Ashley.

And the man was young and tall and large.

And there was a shopping carriage near them.

They were removing everything from the brown tent.

Then, they piled everything into and on top of the heap of the shopping carriage.

Then the man pushed the fully-loaded shopping carriage away from the area.

The woman accompanied him.

They crossed Social Street. Then they crossed Clinton Street.

They went into the shopping parking lot there; and parked the carriage next to a store.

I was now viewing all this from the hallway window. My apartment windows do not overlook this area.

My 74-year-old arms and shoulders were aching from holding the binoculars; so. I had to stop observing for a while. I returned to my apartment.

Later, I began watching again – from the hallway window. The shopping cart was gone. The woman was standing on the bank of the Blackstone River alone. She may have been waiting there. I wondered if the man she had been with was down below the bank – close to the river. I could not see him. Maybe he was erecting the brown tent there. There were some other tents down by the river. I didn’t see him – only the woman on top of the riverbank, alone. That area is very densely covered by thickets. It was difficult for me to imagine a man making a clearing there in that dense growth of bushes; and erecting a tent there where someone could sleep.

Again, that woman didn’t look exactly like Ashley, to me.

So, I don’t know what happened to Ashley.
