This admittedly obscure writing was prompted by someone saying Hi to me so loudly that it offended me. She seemed to be in such an ego-inflated state. And a few weeks ago, at the elevator, waiting with several others, she asked me my name. She lives in the apartment almost directly across the hallway from my apartment. She’s been living there for I don’t know exactly how many years – maybe 5 years. I replied to her question “What is your name?” by saying, “Mark.” She replied, “Marco.” I only gestured with my hand and, maybe a shrug of my shoulders – as if to say: “If that is how you prefer to say my name . . .”
I just have this impression about her as if she feels that she is greater than life itself. High and lifted up and wanting to roar like a lion that is so mighty. It’s because she hollered “Hi” to me in the community room as I was checking my mailbox and she was sitting and talking to a group of our neighbors. [They were all letting her speak. Maybe it was going to her head.] It gave me the feeling she was, maybe, mad at me about something. I wondered if it was something I posted. I don’t know if she even knows I write and post to a blog. Maybe, I’m only imagining things. Maybe she has a very powerful natural spirit that needs to vent its power sometimes.
The following writing is only for those
Who are still in a child-like state of wonder —
That authentically asks:
“What is this?” when they encounter something unique.
It is for those who can experience things as though they are actually entering newness of life . . .
New life . . .
In
Christ –
As they are born again by receiving the Spirit of the Lord their God –
By believing on him, their Lord and Savior,
By
Really believing the gospel of Jesus Christ –
And no longer believing in themselves.
Perhaps it is a genuinely humbling experience to believe in the Lord – rather than to believe in self. Maybe one of the dangers of believing in self is that it can have the effect of making the ego delusional – as in delusions of grandeur.
Awaken, Proud Believers in Yourselves
Only those in spiritual darkness believe in themselves.
And those believers in themselves who read this and become even more flagrantly and outwardly proud and loud and arrogant and defiant are only glorying in their shame.
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” -1 Peter 5:5b ESV Study Bible.
And let those arrogant ones understand that if they mock true humility by being pretentiously humble, then they are only demonstrating mockery. True humility is not a performance done in self-consciousness. True believers who have received the Holy Spirit from the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior are selflessly in the mind of Christ and in the love of God our heavenly Father. They are no longer self-centered, selfish, self-seeking. They are not actors at all. They are as unself-conscious as a newborn babe.
And believers may only arrive at such a selfless state by the grace of God and the work of the Holy Spirit of the Lord sent into our hearts. It is True God Who does this work in us – not ourselves.
“When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” -Jesus [Matthew 10: 19-20 ESV Study Bible].

And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.” -Ephesians 5: 14b ESV Study Bible.

I apologize that this writing is confusing.
I realize it isn’t perfectly clear.
I read it over again and see that it seems to be about two different states of being –
One that is exalted and mighty –
And one that is lowly –
As lowly as a young and innocent child.
“And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’” -Jesus [Matthew 18: 2-4 ESV Study Bible].
