“The Fire Drill Scream (sic) Play”

“The Fire Drill Scream (sic) Play”

[in 23 pages]

Yes, dear reader, there is a play on words in the title

A scream play, rather than a screen play

A play within a play of words

It isn’t that I want to scream

It just makes me so angry

But, if I wrote the title as,

“The Fire Drill . . . it makes me so angry Play”

Well, it just doesn’t sound right – maybe it’s just too long.

It is written to and for believers in Christ Jesus: “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” -Ephesians 4:25-32 ESV Study Bible. [English Standard Version].

[and a note about the word sic –maybe that’s a play on the word sick – but, it also means, according to The American Heritage College Dictionary 4th edition, “Thus; so. Used to indicate that a quoted passage, especially one containing an error or unconventional spelling, has been retained in its original form or written intentionally.”]

Didn’t Jesus tell us that we must become like little children?

And don’t children play?

[Please see Matthew 18:1-14 about changing and becoming like little children—so we can enter the kingdom of heaven].

“At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’

“He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: ‘I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

“And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.”

“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.” -Matthew 18:1-14 NIV Study Bible.

I guess my writing is desultory – like the song “American Pie,” by Don McLean. Maybe it’s a good thing to take a break from reading for a few minutes and just listen to a song . . .

“Don McLean- American Pie (with Lyrics)”

Concerning the Fire Drill

Conducted Four Times a Year

In The United States of AmericaL

[The “L” is the first letter of the Bible reference to God’s name: LORD.]

In the very last book of the Bible, Revelation, it is written that Jesus Christ said: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” -Revelation 1:8. NIV Study Bible.

“A” is the first letter of Alpha. And “A” is the first letter of “AmericaL.”

“Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth — he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

“No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strenth it cannot save. But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

“We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.” -Psalm 33:1-22 NIV. Study Bible.

I’d like to dedicate a song to those responsible for The Fire Drill.

The song is:

By Burt Bacharach

And sung by Renee Maurice

Both the lyrics and the melody are very beautiful.

I hope you will listen to this song often

And that it will touch your heart with loving sentiments, with love and kindness and loving kindness, as Lisette wrote me.

Thank you for your service.

And God bless you.

And God bless The United States of AmericaL

“Alfie – Burt Bacharach (With Lyrics)”

“He Who Has Ears, Let Him Hear.”

-Matthew 11:15. NIV.

“To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

“‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;

“We sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’”

“For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and ‘sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her actions.” -Matthew 11:16-19. NIV Study Bible.

“‘We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,’ they said.” -Acts 14:22b NIV.

“Battle Hymn of the Republic – piano instrumental with lyrics”

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

“Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” -Ephesians 6:10-20. NIV Study Bible.

“Les Miserables – 10th Anniversary Dream Cast in Concert”

The Fire Drill

We live in a very large apartment building.

Every three months a pseudo-fire drill is conducted throughout the building over the public address system in each of 198 apartments.

The program is extremely distressing to hear.

It goes on for about an hour, sometimes longer.

A few days ago, the residents of this building were subjected to this pseudo-fire drill once again.

It seems designed to torment the residents.

What makes you think so?

Well, for example:

After it began with an announcement by the man on the public address system to all the residents,

We didn’t hear another word for about an hour;

So, if any of the residents decided to flee the building to avoid the tormenting pseudo-fire drill,  they might have come back an hour later only to discover that the fire drill was just beginning – and that their attempt to avoid it, by fleeing the building at great inconvenience to themselves for an hour — and suffering the heat outside — was all for nothing. That could be very disappointing and aggravating and frustrating – in addition to having the Fire Drill just beginning, instead of just ending – after they had done their best to try to avoid it.

By the way:

When a fire drill is so obnoxious that residents are driven from their own homes by it – as if they were fleeing from a fire — it is time to question the way that pseudo-fire drill is being conducted.

Why is it being performed in such an obnoxious way?

The following is an attempt to describe the experience from the point of view of a resident who has been living here for more than eleven years — and has been listening to almost every single one of these pseudo-fire drills.

I suppose that some residents are more susceptible than others to being bothered by the noise.

Perhaps some residents aren’t bothered by it at all.

Some people are as strong as a lion.

God made some of His creatures less mighty than the king of the jungle.

Some are as gentle as a lamb.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Fire Dill

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

[Each single Ding! represents a really loud, shrill, high-pitched, piercing, repeated noise]

The noise doesn’t exactly sound like “Ding!” And the noise is longer than a “Ding!”

I can’t spell the sound.

It is as unspellable as it is difficult to hear.

Like water torture, perhaps.

How do you spell the sound and the experience of a simple drop of water on your head and in your mind happening over and over and over and over again?

How do you describle (sic) what it does to you?

Four times a year . . . for 11 years?

It isn’t a fire drill!

It is hypocrisy [pretending to be a fire drill]

It is mental torture.

It is a hypocritical play, a pretention – pretending to be a fire drill — when it is actually mental torture!

Why would the residents be told that we don’t have to stay home during the Fire Drill, unless those responsible for it understand how obnoxious it is? And if they understand how obnoxious it is, then why don’t they fix it so that it is no longer obnoxious?

Many of the following statements are imaginary. They are not all heard over the address system. The imagination becomes inspired. Suffering over a lifetime can awaken the heart and soul and mind and imagination with creative thoughts. The words “being driven out of one’s mind” comes to mind – maybe that’s how and why the writer became imaginative.

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” -Romans 5:1-11 NIV Study Bible.

Much Suffering Can Serve to Wake Us Up;

So We Begin to See and to Distinguish Between What Is True and What is False,

Between What Is Kind and What Is Cruel, by the light God gives us, if we believe in that Light.

“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” -John 12:46 NIV Study Bible.

This is not a news journal article.

It is not purely factual.

It is like a play, perhaps . . .

“The Fire Drill Play”

We know the fire drill is obnoxious.

We’re Just Doing Our Jobs!

Just like the workers in a European country during World War Two we’re just doing their jobs.

They didn’t want to cause suffering to all those millions of their neighbors who were getting gassed to death in those concentration camps.

Of course not.

If you can’t stand the constant repetition of the

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! . . .

If you can’t stand the repetition of:

“Please! Stay in your apartment with the door closed until the fire department gives specific instructions for you to leave.” Then, all you have to do is leave your apartment.

OK, we understand:

Many of you are elderly or disabled

You don’t have to stay outside.

You can go somewhere else.

We understand your difficulty.

We understand the mental torment of listening to the very high pitched

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! before and after every repetition of:

“Please Stay in Your Apartment with the Door Closed Until the Fire Department Gives Specific Instructions for You to Leave.” That goes on and on and on for about an hour.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

We understand it’s Maddening

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

We understand it’s Cruel.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

We understand that it is so obnoxious that you can’t even pay attention to it; and don’t want to remember it; and consequently, you’re not learning anything helpful from it.

We understand that, for a few people, it inspires angry thoughts.

Just Remember How Cruel It Is for those immigrants and refugees in detention centers.

They Are Suffering Much More Than You Are.

So, try to remember that and be thankful.

It could be a lot worse.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

So, just put ear plugs in your ears.

And, if that doesn’t help much . . .

If you still hear VERY LOUDLY

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Then, just go to your room and get on your knees and pray for God’s mercy

That You Don’t Go Mad

Pray That You Don’t Go Insane

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

“Please, stay in your apartment with the door closed until the fire department gives specific instructions for you to leave.”

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

And remember:

We Are not Trying To Torment You

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

We Are Not Trying To Torment You

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Why Would We Want To Torment You?

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

All of these Ding Ding Ding Dings are an essential part of the message.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

We would not insert all of these Ding! Ding! Ding! Dings!

If they were not necessary.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

It’s really essential and important for you all to hear each and every

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Before and after every single statement during the Fire Drill.

Don’t you remember when you were in school, how it was that every single time your teacher spoke a sentence to the class, she always said

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

And after each statement the teacher always added:

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Oh, you don’t remember that?

Well, maybe you had a kind and merciful teacher who did not do that to you.

Man’s Inhumanity to man . . .

“Eve of Destruction”

By Barry McGuire

“And tell me over and over and over again, my friends,

You Don’t Believe We’re On the Road to Destruction”

We’re just doing our jobs . . . just like those workers in Europe during World War Two . . .  gassing millions of their neighbors to death — who were already suffering in unbearably squalid and unmerciful conditions and were being starved, too.

And like what is happening to the refugees fleeing horrible conditions in their poor countries; and suffering in a southern state’s detention centers; and very young children suffering prolonged separation from their parents in cruel conditions.

A great extinction of species is happening because of the deteriorating health of Earth’s environment as the rich and powerful in their voracious greed are constantly “stimulating the economy,” like a cruel slave-driver unmercifully driving Planet Earth nearly to death.

Isn’t there something mad about constantly “stimulating the economy”?

Imagine a mad man who is so in love with his car – like those who are so in love with making money – that he feels compelled to keep his car running all the time – 24 hours a day – every single day. The engine never rests. Even while he is sleeping, his car is running. His neighbors notice the constant exhaust fumes emanating from his garage. And the air pollution in the neighborhood is making them cough; and the cloud of smoke makes the air stink; so, they complain to him. He knows there’s something wrong with him, but he doesn’t want to admit it; so, he obfuscates and evades. He tells them things like: I’m doing something good for the economy. By keeping my car’s engine running all the time, I buy much more gasoline – that’s good for the oil industry – they make more money. And when you get sick from breathing all that unnecessary air pollution, you have to see your doctor and go for medical tests and take prescriptions – that is all good for the healthcare industry. That’s how they make their money. His neighbors reply: We don’t care about them making more money! We care more about peace and quiet and our health! And he replies to them. Your values and priorities are all wrong. You don’t understand that money is the highest value. Money is more important than peace and quiet and personal health. And he reminds them: Don’t you remember that saying: It’s the economy, stupid?

And our national debt is more than 22 trillion dollars.

And that debt is going to expand greatly as tax relief for the very wealthy [who don’t need tax relief] reduces the Country’s revenue.

And the very rich are going to be getting even wealthier,

While the Nation continues to go deeper and deeper into extreme debt.

And we are told that the economy is doing very well — the economy for the rich, that is.

And the people are suffering more and more.

The people in Hong Kong are protesting at the risk of their lives for a reason.

Their apartments are extremely small.

Their working hours are very long.

And they must work six days a week.

We Are Just Doing Our Jobs

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

And Don’t Forget to Vote

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

And if anything is bothering you . . .

Say something.

Let Us Know.

We are here to help.

And, if you don’t like it, remember you can “go back where you came from” as some say;

Because the rich and powerful are working very hard to keep the world system just the way it is.

The world system is working just the way they want it to work.

They love their money and their power and they intend to keep it all just as it is;

With them in power and them in the money.

They don’t want the world system to change for the better.

The wicked way the world is going is working out very lucratively for them – the rich and powerful.

They don’t want to protect the people.

They don’t want to fix the problems with society.

They don’t want to do the right thing and pay down the National Debt.

They are making lots of money by the great interest payments being made to finance our National Debt.

This is how they are getting so wealthy – by unrighteous mis-management of the economy of the United States of America.

They are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

They are like foxes running the hen house.

They are deceived themselves by the god of this age. And they want to keep the deception going.

“Then the disciples came to him and asked, ‘Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?’ He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” -Matthew 15:12-14 NIV.

“Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

“It is written: ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken. With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” -2Corinthians 4:1-18 NIV Study Bible.

And they are deceiving others.

They are like worldly religions that teach false doctrines to the children rather than teaching the truth from God’s Word.

They don’t want us to see the Light.

They want to keep us in darkness, spiritual darkness – so that we can’t see that they are wolves in sheep’s clothing who care not for the sheep, but only care for themselves and for making money by making merchandise of the sheep.

They don’t want us to be able to see and understand with our hearts what they are doing.

They don’t want the eyes of our understanding to open.

That is why they are Conservatives – they want to conserve/preserve things in the world just the way they are. They don’t want gun control. They want to sell more and more guns – to make more money. They love money more than they love people.

Don’t Keep it to yourself

Let Us Know How We’re Doing

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

And if you can’t take it,

See a psychiatrist:

They will prescrible (sic) drugs to dumb you down and dope you up and stupify you;

So you will be able to take it – so you will be able to suffer it;

So you will be easily manageable by them, in your drugged condition.

“That’s how they make their money.”

That’s how the pharmaceutical industry makes its money.

That’s how the pseudo-health “care” industry makes its money.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

And if you don’t want to be drugged by psychiatric drugs,

And you can’t go out in the heat of July

And the cold of January;

And if sitting for over an hour in the Community Room with a sore back

Doesn’t work for you;

And if aspirin for your bodily pain gives you blood in your urine . . .  well,

Just remember to stay calm or it will only get worse.

And, if you write about this matter, you put yourself at risk of being persecuted or evicted.

Remember what happened to a certain whistleblower for speaking out to the Country about what is being done in secret?

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Now, wasn’t that fire drill helpful?

Don’t You Feel Safer, now?

Now you know what to do in a fire.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

You have freedom of speech in this country;

So, don’t be afraid to peacefully and gently and kindly and with humility write about what is going on.

Don’t keep it all bottled up inside.

Let your concerns be known.

“As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them apart. He picked up the cloak that had fallen from Elijah and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. Then he took the cloak that had fallen from him and struck the water with it. “Where now is the LORD, the God of Elijah?” he asked. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

“I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to the earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

“Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. Would you kindly stop tormenting us?

Whether it is intentional or not intentional,

Would you mercifully stop tormenting us?

The current Fire Drill is not helping us.

It does not prevent a fire nor prepare us for a fire.

It is tormenting us.

A peaceful notice on paper could provide all the information and instructions to us in the event of a fire.

And a brief verbal message on the public address system would be much easier to listen to and remember than the current hour-long fire drill that just keeps repeating the same information in a very disturbing, shrill manner.

Elderly and disabled human beings do not need this tormenting and cruel experience.

“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

“He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

“No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ “

-Luke 16:19-31 NIV Study Bible.

“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evil doer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things,” says the LORD Almighty.

“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” -Malachi 4:1-6 NIV Study Bible.

“Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! -James 2:12, 13 NIV.

Concerning the Fire Drill

Conducted Four Times a Year at John F. Kennedy Manor

In Woonsocket, Rhode Island, United States of America

I’d like to dedicate a song to those responsible for The Fire Drill.

The song is:

By Burt Bacharach

And sung by Renee Maurice

Both the lyrics and the melody are very beautiful.

I hope you will listen to this song often

And that it will touch your heart with loving sentiments.

Thank you for your service.

And God bless you.

And God bless the residents and the staff of the house we live in.

Concerning The Sparrow

Jesus said:

“So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
