Many years ago, someone said to me: “If you don’t vote, don’t complain.” Lately, I’ve been thinking: “And if you do vote, be ashamed.” Be ashamed of the things you support by voting: legalized murdering of unborn babies; the legalization of vast amounts of dark [secret] money by the rich and powerful to sway the results of the elections away from the will of the people of the United States of America and toward the will of Corporate America; legalized gambling and lotteries and sports betting; the extreme imbalance of wealth for the few and poverty for the many; wages that are so low that workers can’t afford the high rents – while the CEOs are being paid multi-millions; the extreme National debt of 22 trillion dollars – while those who are responsible for the fiscal management of the Nation are increasing their wealth; giving huge tax reductions to those who should be giving back instead of taking more; sanctioning other countries and thus impoverishing them and their people; the extinction of many species due to toxic conditions of Earth’s environment; pollution of fresh water and the oceans and the air we breathe; and outer space being polluted with space junk; and politics, understandably, is fraught with dissensions – and dissension is listed as one of the many “acts of the sinful nature” in Galations 5:13-26 NIV Study Bible. According to Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary Eleventh Edition, dissension means “DISAGREEMENT ; esp: partisan and contentious quarreling syn see DISCORD.” And the outlawing of prayer in public schools; so that the very young are being “educated” in a godless and immoral way; so that they are deprived of a spiritual foundation for their lives in God and His righteousness; so that they have not the basis for reasoning about right and wrong, according to the truth of Holy Scripture.
