Question

Is there a similarity between what happened at the tower of Babel in Mesopotamia [present-day Iraq] and what is happening in the world today?

A Definition from Dictionary of Business Terms [Barron’s Business Guides] Jack P. Friedman p. 129.

“Corporation legal entity, chartered by a state or the federal government, and separate and distinct from the persons who own it, giving rise to a jurist’s remark that it has “neither a soul to damn nor a body to kick.” Nonetheless, it is regarded by the courts as an artificial person; it may own property, incur debts, sue, or be sued . . .”

Could it be that these “artificial persons” — invented by and for the ambitions of men seeking power and wealth, and vastly impowered by man’s business laws — possess by the vanity of their artificialness an unjustified and irresponsible freedom that allows them – again by the vanity of mere mortal man’s business laws– to do much evil in the world; such as, becoming so wickedly wealthy and thus worldly-powerful that they have at last become saboteurs and hijackers of God-ordained governments; and are putting their own corporate agents [masquerading as public servants for the public welfare of all citizens into positions in government [by something euphemistically-called Citizens United] and are thus able to take [aggrandize] unto themselves the wealth of Nations while putting those Nations into extreme debt – thus weakening those governments while impowering themselves with their ill-gotten gain; and they are also polluting the earth and its environment and sickening all living things on the earth. Could it be that all of this corporate corruption and greed – together with the abomination of legalized abortion of millions of unborn human beings in the womb — is bringing down upon us all the wrath of God by this world-wide pandemic? And, if so, then all the things that the worldly leaders do apart from a world-wide repentance will avail nothing to stop the Biblically Prophesied Tribulation from occurring? The world that does not believe in God is not going to repent. It will continue in its unbelief and ignorance of God and the gospel of Christ until it passes away. And then, the kingdom of God will come. And later, there will be a resurrection of the living and the dead; and a judgment – more than one judgment, in fact; and later, there will be a regeneration of the heavens and the earth; and many resurrected believers will also be regenerated gloriously — and with eternal life they will never die again – and they will live gloriously in the Lord God Almighty’s new heavens and new earth that He will provide for all those who genuinely and wholeheartedly believe in the Son of God Jesus Christ according to the gospel of God in The New Testament of The Holy Scriptures, inspired by the Holy Spirit of the One True God of heaven and earth.

Who Is Sustaining the World?

Why Is There So Much Suffering in the World?

Will the World Always Be?

Will Something Else Ever Replace the World?

What Will It Be That Replaces the World?

Who Will Live in the New Heavens and the New Earth?

Who Will Be the God-blessed Citizens of The Kingdom of God?

What Will Happen to Those Who Choose Not to Be a Part of the Kingdom of God?

This writer does not exactly know the answers to the above questions;

However, reading the Holy Scriptures all these years has at least awakened an awareness of these questions.

And the Holy Scriptures do speak to believers about these matters;

And they do give us some answers to these questions.

And a Study Bible with extensive footnotes on every page helps the reader get a better understanding of the Scriptures.

Characters: Donny, Mom and Sonora

Setting: The Kitchen

Opening Scene

Mom Walks into the Kitchen and finds someone with their hand in the cookie jar . . .

Mom: “Donny! I told you to keep away from that cookie jar! You’re eating too many.”

Donny: “It isn’t me Mom; it’s your daughter. She dressed herself up like me to protect herself if you walked in here and caught her in the act.”

Mom: “Donny, do actually expect me to believe that crock of cookies you’re telling me?”

Donny: “It’s true Mom. I went to school today just like I always do; and Sonora stayed home – like she often does. You know how your daughter is, Mom. She’s always up to her tricks. Now she’s into putting on a disguise and pretending she’s me.”

Mom: “Do you expect me to believe that? You think I can’t tell the difference between my daughter and her little brother? Don’t you dare take me for a fool, you little whippersnapper!”

Donny: “Your darling daughter is more clever than you can imagine, Mom.”

Mom: “Well, just how clever is she, Donny boy?”

Donny: “She has magical abilities.”

Mom: “What magical abilities?”

Donny: “She can transfer my little pee pee from me to her, for example.”

Mom: “Why would Sonora did such a thing?”

Donny: “I don’t know . . . she never told me; but sometimes I have it and sometimes it’s gone for a while.”

Mom: “What would she do with your little thing, Donny?”

Donny: “I don’t know; maybe she has a penis envy complex and likes to play with it and imagine she’s a boy for a while.”

Mom: “Maybe my son has a magical imagination and likes to tell outlandish stories to his mother — is what I’m imagining.”

And just then, Sonora returned from her day at school and walked into the kitchen. “Hi Mom. Hi Donny,” she greeted them; and took a cookie out of the cookie jar.

Donny: “Mom, why don’t you say something to Sonora about taking cookies out of the cookie jar?”

Mom: “Well, Sonora has taken only that one cookie all day. And she went to school as she is supposed to – like a well-behaved daughter whom I love very much.”

Donny: “Mom, do you love me?”

Mom: “Yes Donny, I love you; but you have some peculiar ways about you that are a challenge to me.”

Donny: “Speaking of peculiar, Mom; I read that word in the Bible. Christians are a peculiar people is what I read there.”

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Mom: “Are you a Christian, my peculiar son?”

Donny: “Yes, I am a Christian, Mom. I really believe in the Lord Jesus — my Lord Jesus. He is my Savior and my Teacher and my Redeemer and my Good Shepherd.”

Mom. “And where did you learn all those words about Jesus, Donny?”

Donny: “From reading the gospel of Jesus Christ online for several months – at BibleGateway.com. And the Acts of the Apostles; and the Epistles; and the Book of Revelation. The New Testament of Jesus Christ really is a wonderful Book, Mom! It’s really out-of-this-world in what it tells believers about God and salvation and the Second Coming of Christ and the new heavens and the new earth; and Redemption and the Kingdom of God!”
