“What Woonsocket Needs –Really!”

What Woonsocket Needs

A supermarket and a department store on Main Street

As in years past

When there was an Almacs Market and McCarthy’s Department Store on Main Street

Those two kinds of stores – a supermarket and a department store — would really put Woonsocket back in business by attracting shoppers looking for the basic necessities of human life – food and clothing and household items.

And that would make Woonsocket Alive Again

People need food and clothes and detergent more than a running track

We already have the John R. Dionne running track

It’s right next to Cass Park

And don’t put our new supermarket and department store in Cass Park

Let Cass Park be Cass Park – a peaceful place

And let Main Street be Main Street again

With very many people coming into our City to buy things they really need

By bus and train and maybe even trolleys, too

And just walking to Main Street

Sweet Beulah Land – Squire Parsons

“No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married. As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bride groom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.” -Isaiah 62:4, 5. ESV Study Bible.
