All of your thoughts are great as far as they go, Mark. Indeed, we must be as little children. However, the message for this time is found in Rev.14:6-14:12. This is called the THREE ANGELS MESSAGES. In Daniel, we find this:Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Notice the time of trouble! This happens just before Jesus returns.You can find a description of that time from Rev. 8:1 onward to Rev:9:25. You see, my fellow believer, God means exactly what He says. Faith in Jesus must be able to endure hardship, privation and suffering.Why, you say? Simple. What do you think the Son of God suffered before the cross and during the crucifiction? In the garden of Gethsemane, we read He sweated great drops of blood. He begged the Father to take the cup (of self denial) away if possible. Jesus was never wealthy, and in the years of His public ministry, he had no home. I’m certain you have read where
He says the servant is not greater than his lord. He suffered, and so shall we. It is needful because we do not see our sinful nature in its entirety.
