The world sees darkly because it is in the spiritual darkness of unbelief.
“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and the people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” -John 3:19-21. ESV Study Bible.

An example of how the world in spiritual darkness sees things amiss.
The world calls it “a broken heart;” however, it is actually something wonderful and filled with promise – like the birth of a child. It is very painful to the mother in labor – and even her baby cries; however, after the birth of the human being her pain is gone; and she has a feeling of fulfillment that she has brought a human child into the world.
A seed – perhaps an acorn – falls to the ground. Perhaps only a squirrel sees any value in that hard nut laying on the ground under Mother Oak’s great branches. It probably looks sad to people of the world if they even notice it at all. It has fallen out of its mother’s arms and is now like an orphan child. All alone in the world. However, if it is blessed — left in peace and quiet and protected — it just may sprout; after it cracks open and looks like it’s broken, a little sprout may come out and begin to see the light of day for the first time in its life; and it may also put a tiny root into Mother Earth and become reconnected to its new Mother; its life-giving Mother who will nurture her new child with life-giving water and nutrients from the soil.
People who have the Light of Christ by being born again by the grace of God and the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and enjoy the help of the Helper Whom Christ sends into the heart of those who believe in Him [the Holy Spirit] begin to see things that the unborn again can’t see and don’t even care to see – because their hearts are not blessed with the tender loving Spirit of God, yet. They are still in a callous state of heart and mind and soul and spirit. Their heart is not yet circumcised. They are only natural – not spiritual, yet. They are still in “the acorn on the ground” state of being; a dormant state of being. They do not yet have a clue about their potential – if only they will hear the gospel, and believe it; and call upon the Lord Jesus for salvation; and then receive His Holy Spirit; and thus become born again, a child of God . . . beginning a new life in Christ that will eventually become a glorious new creation – a son of God – if they continue in the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord; and continue to learn of Him and grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

The world mistakenly thinks that politics can be made to do the right things for the people and their country.
Only True God and His coming kingdom will make things right. Only those who truly believe in Him – not in the world – not in themselves – not in the flesh – not in the false god of this world – but in Him, the Lord and Savior of all men, especially believers, will be there – enjoying the new heavens and the new earth that He Alone will bring to His children who are born again by His grace and His faith and His hope and His only begotten Son – the Son of God – He is True God and eternal life. [see 1 John 5 ESV].

It is because the world sees darkly that it loves guns and abortion and war and money and power and politics and worldly false religion and pride. It doesn’t believe in the Living God and His Holy Scriptures.

And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

At the time of the Titanic – that luxurious ship on her maiden and only voyage –
It was only those who got into the humble lifeboats and waited to be rescued who were saved.
Those who in pride stayed with the doomed ship went down with her.
In the Book of Revelation, the world system is represented by Babylon the great prostitute. And in Revelation 18, a voice from heaven says, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” -Revelation 18:4a, 5.
