Today — May 24 — is the 144^th day of the year.

Did you ever notice that your birthday is on that special day — the 144^th day of the year? And I checked a calendar for the month and day and year you were born – it was on the same day of the week that I was born, a Wednesday. And a neighbor told me that the maternity ward of the hospital where we were born was on the second floor; so, when I was recently walking on Cass Avenue, I stopped and looked at what used to be called Woonsocket Hospital. And I was noticing the windows of the second floor; and was wondering if we were born right there – on the inside of those second-floor windows on the right-hand side of the building. And then I was thinking – all seven of us children of Raymond Arthur Richer and Beulah Ann [Wilbur] Richer were born there; and Dad departed from that hospital. And I was wondering what hour and minute you were born. I was born at 8:23 AM. I found the time of my birth on my birth certificate. I find numbers inspiring. They often give rise to wonderful thoughts; for example: what if you were also born at 1:44 AM – or 1:44 PM ? And now, I’m noticing that – in the number 144 – is the number 14. I was born on the 14^th day of a different month and year. And the State of Israel was born on the 14^th of May.

And — in the Bible — 144,000 is a very special number.
