“Breaking the Heart (Open) Like a Sprouting Seed”
It’s a Wonderful Thing to “See”
Spiritual things . . .
With “the eyes of the understanding” opening
For instance –
Seeing that as you listen to a sweet hymn
And your heart is crying from the tenderness of Christ being loved and praised by the faithful
And you’re remembering a saying from long ago by World Vision
“Let your heart be broken (open) by the things that break the heart of God.”
And by His grace you can – at last – understand yourself as a seed that is breaking open –
and beginning to sprout.
So, you just endure the sweet sorrow as you live and listen in the sure hope that something very good is happening to you –
As you listen and cry –
Like Frosty the Snowman –
As he melts away on a summer day –
Your self is going away
As Christ-in-you is coming to stay
On the throne of your heart
