My Dad’s License Plate
In
The 1960s and ‘70s
A few minutes ago, was wondering what I might say if asked my preference regarding the choice of burial or cremation.
I hope to be Raptured and Regenerated – RR
And never be concerned about death.
What got me thinking about this question may have been an obituary in
The Valley Breeze – August 20th, 2026.
In 1961-’62 – the year Eileen came to St. Charles School –
Our teacher — Sister Mary Danette — was not feeling well for a few months.
And Mrs. Martin P. Crowley took over for a while as our teacher.
[Thank you, Mrs. Crowley, for being our 4th-grade schoolteacher].
It was her obituary on page 20 that I read today – August 20 — in the newspaper.
4th Grade at St. Charles School was a precious time.
We were so young . . .
And being in school was so interesting
We had Geography that year –
The only year in school I ever had Geography as a subject.
The textbook was presented as a story of a young boy our age going on a trip around the world with his dad – and maybe his grandfather. The boy whose name was Peter told the readers of the Geography textbook about all he saw and learned about the different countries he and his dad and grandfather visited.
Sister Mary Danette’s name was, I suppose, the feminine version of the name Daniel. And our school was on Daniels Street in Woonsocket, RI. – at the corner of Earle Street. I wish the school building was still there. I would be so touched-in-my-heart – even touched-to-tears – to walk the hallways again of our red brick three-story schoolhouse; and even walk into our old classrooms and see everything again – just as it was when we were young boys and girls in class – “back in the day.” Wouldn’t it be wonderful if such a miraculous experience could happen – if we could all be back there again – in Reality ! And be young again in heart and mind and soul and spirit and body.
Jesus said: “With man it is impossible; but, with God all things are possible.”
I believe in you, Jesus !
But, to be honest about it –
I’m also discouraged about how bad the world is becoming.

The Lord Jesus’ Holy Spirit reminded me this morning why all of us on Earth now are suffering and why His Son Jesus Christ has not yet returned to Rapture believers; and then bring the Tribulation upon all those left behind. It is because True God desires all people to be saved; therefore He is allowing for this long time between Christ’s resurrection and ascension to heaven – almost 2000 years ago – and His Second Coming — so that during this intervening Age of God’s Grace – all may hear and understand and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ – and receive Jesus by faith as our personal Lord and Savior – and also receive His Holy Spirit — so that we are all forgiven of all our sins – so that True God may welcome all of us into His Kingdom.

And our school’s address may have been 8 Daniels Street.
And there is a famous book in the Bible named Daniel.
I have a cousin named Daniel. He’s my age. He has departed this life.
There is a very heart-touching song named: “O Danny Boy.”
I love heart-touching songs.

Another thought about “RR”
At Rhode Island College I was for a very short time there
And took a course titled:
Reason and Revelation: The Biblical Approach to Truth. [ RR ].
Cremation is being burned by fire
Buriel in the coolness of the earth seems better.
I would much prefer being Raptured alive and taken by the Lord to heaven.
Was just imagining the RR on my Dad’s license plate
Meaning

Eileen’s daughter, Mary — her birthday has the numbers 27 and 77 – 7/27/77.
I apologize for mentioning this.
I understand birthdates are a private matter.
And
She’s married.
God bless her and her husband and their marriage and children and all their family.

Just went to my bookcase to retrieve a Bible dictionary
And before opening it
The word Kingdom came to mind.

Eileen became a teacher
Her mother was also a teacher
And Eileen’s daughter became a teacher.
And Mrs. Martin P. Crowley and her husband were also teachers.
The only thing Martin P. Crowley ever said to me in high school was –
“Go back down!”
He wasn’t my History teacher –
But he caught me going Up the Down Staircase.
I went back down.

I only became a learner.
Learning may be easier than teaching
Teachers have to stand for hours and speak many words and correct papers.
Learners only have to sit and listen and take tests and do homework.
And even if they become a writer, they still are able to sit down quietly and type as they write. And they may also enjoy quietly sitting and reading – peacefully.
And Eileen’s last name began with an O
And Mark’s first name ends with a K.
So . . .
That’s OK.
And Eileen lived on Glen Road
And Glen begins with a G
And Great also begins with a G.
It is always a peaceful experience for me to walk on Glen Road.
It always impresses my heart as a very beautiful and peaceful neighborhood to walk.
Trying to think of a song or hymn now . . .
Instead, what just came to mind is a poem by
