April and August Corresponding in September 2026
Seeking a Writing Topic
August Deepening Dawn: “April, can you think of something for me to write about ?”
April: “Why do you ask me, August ?”
August: “Because you’re the one I think of when I need help.”
April: “Don’t you think of the Lord, August ?”
August: “Yes – in fact I just came out of my room where I was praying.”
April: “What did you pray for ?”
August: “Peace.”
April: “Why were you praying for peace, August ?”
August: “The Red Sox.”
April: “What about the Red Sox ?”
August: “It’s so disappointing to follow them; so, I go to my room and close the door and pray. And then I come out of my room and check how they are doing. They had the bases loaded with one out – that’s when I went to my room and began to pray – when I opened the bedroom door and came out of my room they made two more outs. Inning over. No runs scored. So, I was sitting there searching for something to write about – to turn my thoughts to something else. I opened Word and began writing about wanting something to write about. And I thought of you, April; and began this dialogue with you.”
April: “What did you do today, August ?”
August: “I went out walking.”
April: “Where did you walk to ?”
August: “Sweet Avenue and Hebert Avenue.”
April: “Why did you go there – of all places ?”
August: “Well, I grew up on Sweet Avenue – my first 18 years I lived there. And I delivered The Woonsocket Call newspaper for my childhood friend, Charley Desjardins, for a whole week – two summers in a row – while he and his family were on vacation at Lake Hiawatha in Blackstone, Massachusetts – when I was about 12 years old in the early 1960s.”
April: “How old are you now, August ?”
August: “I’ll be 75 in November, April.”
April: “What does September mean to you, August ?”
August: “It’s the time of year for going back to school; but, I graduated. I can’t go back to school anymore, April. When I look out my windows or stand out on my porch, I can see St. Charles Church – but, sadly, St. Charles School is no longer to the right of the church – across from the schoolyard on Daniels Street.”
April: “Maybe you should have become a teacher; then you could continue going back to school every September.”
August: “Even if I had become a teacher, I’d be retired now – at 74 going on 75.”
April: “Maybe you’ll think of something to write about, August – even in retirement you can write – and you can do it anytime of day or night. Writing may be the best thing for you, August.”
August: “It would be nice to have someone to write to, April; then I wouldn’t only be writing all by myself.”
April: “Who would you like to write to, August ?”
August: “Someone I love.”
April: “Why do you want to write to someone you love, August ?”
August: “Love connects people. Love makes writing – and everything – more meaningful.”
April: “You want to be connected with the one you write to ?”
August: “Of course. Why would I want to write to someone I don’t love ?”
April: “Why did you think of me – to write to, August ?”
August: “There is something about a lady, April.”
April: “And what is that something, August ?”
August: “I believe it is grace, April.”
April: “Can you tell me more about this grace, August ?”
August: “I believe it comes from the Lord’s Holy Spirit in the heart, April. In fact, it is written: “Those without the Spirit are none of His.” And: “Then he said to me, ‘This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward the top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’” -Zechariah 4: 6-7 ESV.
April: “And how does one receive the Lord’s Holy Spirit in their heart, August ?”
August: “Our Lord Jesus sends his Spirit into the heart of those who become true, sincere believers in Him – who believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and confess with their mouth “the Lord Jesus” and “believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.”
August: “You’re a lovely lady, April. And I like your name. It reminds me of early Spring – the best time of the year – when the cold and dreariness of Winter are passing away. And it’s followed by May – which is even more cheerful with things becoming green again – and flowers begin to blossom – and gardens begin to grow. My grandmother had a garden on Sweet Avenue. And Mister Barrette had a garden right across the street from where we lived.”
April: “Do you want to be in love with me, August; so we can correspond together meaningfully – in love ?”
August: “Yes, April.”
April: “August, I was a schoolteacher; but, I’m retired now.”
August: “How do you like retirement, April ?”
April: “It isn’t very meaningful. I was an English teacher. I taught Grammer and Literature and Writing.”
August: “That’s encouraging to me, April. We have something in common. I have good memories of being in school – at St. Charles School in Woonsocket – for 8 years. I wish we could have stayed for 9th grade – but they eliminated it. There’s a beautiful music video that reminds me of my school days. The song is beautiful; and the video is also beautiful; and the interior of the school in the video actually looks a lot like St. Charles School – just like the 3rd-floor where there was an auditorium and a library at our school. And there were Hardy Boys Mystery Story books in that library. The first one I read was The Secret Panel. It was number 25 in the series of 58 original stories. And there were Nancy Drew stories, too. And several other’s like them – for example: Tom Swift and the Bobbsey Twins. It was a wonderful library for school children. Even to this day, I am thankful to the parishioners of St. Charles Church for creating that library; and for donating the many books for the children of St. Charles School.”
April: “I wish I could view that music video, August.”
August: “I can place the link to it right here for you, April.”
April: “All right, August.”

April: “I don’t know what to say, August . . . There are no words now. This correspondence has brought me to the end of words. My heart is being touched by it all – including the music and videos.”
August: “It wasn’t my intention, April – to bring our correspondence to the end of words. I don’t know what to do now. I don’t know what to write.”

April: “Maybe you would enjoy going to church, August.”
August: “Maybe the Lord graduated me from “going to church”, April.”
April: “What makes you think so ?”
August: “It is no longer in my heart to “go to church.” And the Lord said a man can have only one master; therefore, a pastor – which means “shepherd” cannot be over a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ – otherwise he would be divided between the Lord and someone else.
Jesus said:

August: “And, maybe, there’s even some Scriptures about this.”
April: “What Scriptures, August ?”
August: “They are in Matthew 6. If you read all the chapter, you may recognize them – they begin with “and when you pray.”
April: “Well, maybe going to church is for those who are still in “school.” And when the Lord’s Holy Spirit finds them ready to graduate, He makes them free to “go to your room and close the door and pray to your heavenly Father in secret.”
August: “Amen.”
April: “What about today, August ?”
August: “Your question, April, reminds me of a song.”
April: “Which one, August ?”
August: “I don’t remember the title. I can’t find it. My memory for names [and titles] is fading away.”
April: “Now what, August ?”
August: “That question, April, reminds me of another song – and this time, I can recall the title.”
April: “What is the title, August ?”
August: “What Now, My Love.”

August: “Those are all very beautiful hymns, April; however, there is something about them.”
April: “What is it, August ?”
August: “They sound like “a performance” – rather than being sung from the heart. What I mean is that they don’t sound really personal. They are still beautiful hymns. And they have a beautiful message. And they are well worth listening to – and learning from. And I believe the one who originally wrote them – wrote them from his or her heart.”
August: “April, the following three hymns make me cry . . . sweetly. And they sound like they are being sung from the heart – very truly and sincerely.”

All To Jesus I Surrender by Robin Mark Lyrics
All To Jesus I Surrender by Robin Mark Lyrics
August: “April, I was imagining something about you.”
April: “What did you imagine about me, August ?”
August: “Imagined you have a twin sister named May.”
April: “May I ask how you arrived at this imagining, August ?”
August: “Sometimes, imaginings just happen – out of the blue. I also imagined that her birthday is in April – while your birthday is in May.”
April: “How could that happen, August ?”
August: “Well, I imagined that your sister, May, always wanted to be first; so, you graciously let her be born ahead of you. And so, she came forth at the last minute of the last hour and last day of April; and then you came forth during the first minute of the first hour of the first day of May. So, you were born on the “First of May” – just like the title of that beautiful Bee Gees’ song: “First of May.” Then I wondered if your middle name might be Meloday – I meant – Melody – but, maybe Meloday is a new and beautiful name, too. Maybe it should be spelled like: Mello Day – or Mellow Day. I don’t know.”
April: “What did you imagine my twin sister’s middle name to be ?”
August: “I imagined she was only given a middle initial.”
April: “And what might that initial be, August.”
August: “Your sister’s middle initial is I.”
April: “So her name is May I ?”
August: “Yes. It seemed fitting that your sister, May – who always wants to be first should have the name May I – thus reminding her that she ought to be considerate of others – and ask for permission – rather than always putting herself forward – in order to be first and foremost. And it is written: “But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.” -Jesus [Matthew 19: 30 NIV].

April: “This is rather confusing, August. May I ask: How deep is your dawn, August ?”
August: “It’s as deep as can be, April. And that reminds me of another Bee Gees’ song: “How Deep Is Your Love.”
April: “August, you seem to like playing with words. Are you a playful person, August ?”
August: “April just may find out – since she is such a loving person. And that reminds me of another song.”
April: “August Deepening Dawn, you are very into songs. You must have a love for music.”
August: “Many songs touch my heart. They make me feel like crying.”
April: “It may be Love that touches your heart, August – and makes you feel like crying.”
August: “May be April.”
August: “There is a song called, “April.”
April: “I’d like to listen to it, August.”

August: “April, is there a June in your family ?”

April: “Yes. Why ?”

August: “April, I’d like to play one more song for you, if I may ?”
April: “What is the song you’d like to play for me, August ?”
August: “It’s called “Evergreen.”
April: “May I listen to it, August ?”
August: “Yes, April.”

April: “August, did that song make you feel like crying ?”
August: “No, it didn’t.”
April: “I wonder why.”
August: “Maybe because when I’m corresponding with you, I feel comforted – by your loving presence, April. And maybe that is one of the beautiful things about evergreen love for you April – it is eternal – and eternally yours – in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. His love for us is Evergreen.”
April: “If you really love me, August . . . Love will make you cry, sometimes. That is my belief.”
August: “Amen April.”
August: “If you deliberately try to make me cry, it won’t work, April.”
April: “Why not ?”
August: “When you really love someone, you don’t deliberately hurt them – just to see them cry for you. True Love is not selfish. Deliberately hurting someone is not Love, at all.”
April: “Amen August.”

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” -Colossians 3: 17 NIV.
August: “April, there is one more thing I’d like to confide to you, please.”
April: “What is it, August ?”
August: “When people ask me, ‘How are you ?’ I answer, ‘Okay;’ however, I wonder what else I might answer to that question. And I have an idea – but it is such a profound answer that I imagine people will be stunned if I tell them. And I also imagine that they will think: ‘That wasn’t what I expected at all – and it wasn’t what I meant, either. And they may think: ‘He is so weird!’”
April: “What answer are you imagining to reply to people who ask: “How are you?” — that is so stunning ?”
August: “In Hebrews 1:3a NIV it is written: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.” So, it is by the Son of God through whom God made the universe that we are living and by him we are all being sustained. I imagine people will find such an answer so “out of this world” that they will think: “He’s crazy!”
April: “I agree with you, August; they will likely find such an answer astounding – much more than they were expecting. And the Rapture will also be something astounding – that people will not be expecting – unless they are true believers in our Lord – and know his Word – the gospel of our salvation – by God’s grace – through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
August: “And Jesus also said: ‘I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.’” -Luke 12: 8 NIV. That’s why I’d like to tell them about the Son of God sustaining me – to acknowledge Jesus before men; however, it may sound as if I’m trying to exalt myself – and Christians are not to exalt themselves.”
“And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.” -Hebrews 1: 1-4 ESV Study Bible.

Today is Saturday, September 19, 2026
According to the website Epoch Days
It is the 262 day of the year 2026.
Interestingly [to me] is that no matter if you read 262 forward or backwards it is the same.
And about the number 26 —
Half of 26 = 13
And half of 62 = 31
And
31 written backwards = 13
April: “August, I think you’re getting off topic. And, by the way, August – are you also numerical – besides being literal ?”
August: “Maybe I am. And, by the way, April – did you also teach arithmetic when you were a school teacher ?”
April: “Of course, I did, August.”
August: “Do you like numbers, April ?”
April: “Yes, I like numbers. They are a refreshing change from words.”
