Was/Were Having A Conversation
About What is Going On in the World
[Since No One Else Online Listens to Us]
It Went Like This:
Me: “So, what do you guys think of the way things are going?”
Myself: “What things? Going where?”
I: “He means the economy; and the pandemic; and the world system.”
Myself: “Oh, those things. OK, now I get you.”
Me: “So, what do you think?”
I: “Allow me to answer the question, Myself. With the LORD’s Help, or, Helper, this subject is like Julia Child giving cooking lessons to a home economics class in her own high school.”
Myself: “OK, Julia . . . , I mean: “I”. Sorry, I never was too good in English. I think I need psychology classes, to be honest with you. I’m still getting confused about the meanings or definitions of personal, inter personal and intra personal. I think, maybe, my mother messed me up when I was a child. Oops. Please don’t take that too personally, Julia. It isn’t your fault nor your family’s fault. “The fault, dear Brutus lies not in our stars but in our selves that we are underlings.” -William Shakespeare. [So, maybe it wasn’t my mom’s fault, either. Maybe it’s all God’s doing. There must be reasons why He didn’t make us perfect in this olde world were suffering through.]
I: “It’s OK, Myself. As long as you truly believe in Jesus, then all your faults [sins] are forgiven.”
Me: “OK, guys. Let’s get back on track. The question still is: What do you guys think of the way things are going in and with the world?”
I: “Things are going just the way God wants them to go, Me.”
Myself: “Tell us more, I.”
I: “God is bringing the whole world order – or rather the world that lies in wickedness to an end – in preparation for the coming of His Kingdom, the home of righteousness.” “That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.” -2 Peter 3:12b-13. NIV Study Bible.
Myself: “And how is He doing that?”
I: “He’s having the rulers sabotage the system.”
Myself: “Do you mean that they are deliberately messing up the world?”
I: “I don’t know about their intentions. I only see what is going on and the results.”
Myself: “And what makes you think that God Almighty is behind all this?”
I: “His Holy Scriptures tell us.”
Myself: “Which Scriptures?”
I: “Well, for example, it is written: “We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him – but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.” – 1 Corinthians 2:6-10a. Myself: “You think God put them in charge for this very purpose, I?”
I: “Yes, Myself.”
Myself: “Where in God’s Word of the Holy Scriptures do you get that understanding, I?”
I: “As it is written: “The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of men.” -Daniel 4:17. ESV Study Bible.
Myself: “And how is God bringing the world to an end?”
I: “Again, it is written: “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.” -Daniel 2:44, 45. ESV Study Bible.
Myself: “Are there any other Scriptures about this?”
I: “Yes.”
Myself: “Where are they, I?”
I: “In the Book of The Revelation To John, in chapters Twelve to Twenty-Two.”
