Come, My Boy!
Mark was in the pantry washing his dishes. Eileen came near to him. He put his hand on her hip as if he would dance with her.
Eileen: “Don’t touch me!” Mark removed his hand from Eileen’s hip.
Mark: “Yes, mistress.”
Eileen: “Yes, I am your mistress-for-the-moment. But, don’t call me that — because we have only one Master, the Christ of God, Jesus our Lord and Savior — and we are all equal under His Lordship.”
Mark: “What should I call you?”
Eileen: “Don’t call me anything. Just listen and obey! Now, come with me into the living room, my boy.” Eileen walked into the livin’-groom. And Mark followed her. Eileen went to the computer and opened a music program and selected a song for them to listen and dance to: Perfect. As the music began to play, Eileen turned to Mark. She raised her right hand and said, “Now, my boy, if you will, place your left hand into mine.” Mark placed his left hand into Eileen’s right hand. And it both thrilled his body and touched his heart to tears. He wanted to cry Eileen a river. The Lord spoke to his heart to “Hold On, Mark. Just hold on.” So Mark just held on to Eileen’s hand. And his heart was bursting with great emotion and wanting to cry out and burst forth like a great river.

Eileen: “Now Mark, would you be so kind and gentle as to place your right hand on your lady love’s left hip?” So, Mark did so. And he wanted to just wrap his arms around Eileen and hold on to her for dear life and eternal love. However, the Lord spoke to his heart again. “Just listen and obey, Mark.” So, Mark did exactly as he was told. He began to hear the music being played as he danced with Eileen.

Mark: “I still believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God who created and sustains all things in His Creation. He is Lord of all. However, until he returns, Eileen, I was wondering . . . would you believe in Him, also?”
Eileen: “Why?”
Mark: “Unless you believe in Him, we cannot be in love.”
Eileen: “Why not?”
Mark: “We can only be in love if we are in the same Spirit.”
Eileen: “What Spirit is that?”
Mark: “The Holy Spirit of God: the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. If we are not of the same Spirit, then we don’t have the same Love and Light in our hearts. We cannot be in agreement. We cannot be in harmony. We cannot be on the same journey to the same destination unless we fundamentally love the same One.”
Eileen: “Well, why are you interested in me? Why do you write to me? Why do you think of me?”
Mark: “Well, maybe God is calling you and using me to get your attention.”
Eileen: “Do you really love me, Mark?”
Mark: “Yes, Eileen, I really love you.”
Eileen: “How do you know you love me?”
Mark: “I know I love you because even though you are not replying to me I cannot let go of you. I keep writing to you anyway.”
Eileen: “What do you want with me, Mark?”
Mark: “I want to be in harmony with you.”
Eileen: “What does that mean?”
Mark: “I want to be in loving conversation with you.”
Eileen: “And what is loving conversation?”
Mark: “Loving conversation is happening when two people are being lovingly and kindly together in whatever they are doing together.”
Eileen: “Give me an example.”
Mark: “Dancing slowly together and really enjoying being in each other’s arms; and moving smoothly together. And feeling comforted in that togetherness. Blissfully together. Peacefully in agreement.

For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her by Simon and Garfunkel
Mark: “Eileen:
“What, then, shall we say, in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 8:31-39.
