Who But the Devil?

Who but the devil would be behind such things as: abortion; legalizing abortion; legalizing medical insurance payments to those who commit this bloody and merciless act of killing unborn human children by the multi-millions?

And who but the devil would be behind the writing of laws that empower companies to become so humongously powerful as to pollute the earth’s environment with such massive toxicity that is killing off thousands of species of God-created insects; and making other animals and birds and sea creatures suffer with various sicknesses all their lives?

And who but the devil would be behind allowing the tremendously rich to possess such great wealth and pay little or no taxes while the many suffer in poverty – because of the legally-authorized and enhanced world system of hoarding the wealth of the world by a few – and thus depriving the many of the basic necessities that support life?

Are there Holy Scriptural reasons for understanding that the devil is behind all this?

“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” -2 Corinthians 4:3-6 ESV Study Bible.
