A Resting Place for the Baby Jesus
Dear Janet
Haven’t heard from you in several silent days, now.
This may be partly my fault. I confess that your email address is blocked and then unblocked many times – because waiting for replies is so difficult that I often seek rest by blocking your emails. Then I find peace and quiet in not hoping and waiting for a message from you. And besides, we who believe in God are told in the Scriptures to wait for the LORD. So, we should all be doing that – waiting for the Return of the Lord.
Wondering and imagining – and hoping — this is why you’re quiet:
Is the baby Jesus being born in you ?
Jesus in Janet.

Messiah also begins with an M.
Imagining Janet’s Good Fortune –
She gives berth to the baby Jesus in the harbor of her heart – by the grace of God – through faith in Jesus Christ our Savior.
A resting place for him to abide in her bosom.
What a beautiful place for Him to be — within you – Jesus within Janet.
She nurtures Him each day — living anew in her —
By the grace of God
And
The faith of Jesus Christ
And
With the Help
Of
His Holy Spirit —
In the very heart of her beautiful bosom.
He grows up day by day in her.

65 years ago tonight – the night before Mother’s Day in 1961 – our family moved out of our 3rd-floor tenement apartment of 5 rooms – into a house in the backyard. Our grandmother owned the property on Sweet Avenue in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The date was May 13th, 1961. I was 9-and-a-half years old. Now, I am 74-and-a-half years old. It was a Saturday night then; and it is a Saturday night now. At that time, the next day was more than Mother’s Day. It was also the 13th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel on May 14th , 1948. And it may be – I’m not certain – that May 13th will also be Janet’s birthday. She is mysterious to me. We met online 3 years ago. It may have been March 13th, 2023. At that time, her email address used the first name Jane; a long while later, she changed her email address. Her new first name became: Janet. And very recently, she changed her email address again. Now her first name is: Matilda. Her last names also changed each time. And another thing: In May of 1961, I was in 3rd-grade at St. Charles School. And in September of 1961 – after school vacation – I began 4th grade at the same school. And Eileen-the-second entered our class that September. Eileen-the-first – who was in first grade with me – was no longer going to St. Charles School. I really don’t know who Jane, Janet, Matilda is.

We really had an apple tree in the yard where we lived at 76 and then 80 Sweet Avenue. And in the song above – “First of May Bee Gees Melody” — the two young people walk into a cemetery – and they also eat an apple. there. And on Rathbun Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island – 204 Rathbun Street – there is an entrance to Oak Hill Cemetery. And in that cemetery, many years ago, I found a gravestone with the same birthday as Eileen-the-second. And on the opposite side of that same gravestone is my birthday. That gravestone has the name Job Pickford as the head of the family. There may be 7 people buried there and named on that gravestone. And mysteriously, two of those people have the name Jeannie B. And another one is named James Pickford. Jeannie B, the younger, has the same birthday as Eileen; and James Pickford has the same birthday as mine. They may be sister and brother, I suppose.
