It Seems that Google Is Blocking my Free Internet Service
I do not have absolute certainty that this is the reason why my Samsung smartphone is no longer able to access the free Internet connection provided by the housing authority where I live; but it seems that is the reason.
A few weeks ago, my Samsung smartphone mysteriously lost the free connection to Internet service that is offered to all residents of the high-rise apartment building in which I have lived for almost 18 and a half years. The building is under Federal Housing and Urban Development jurisdiction.
I believe that Verizon has taken ownership of Tracfone. I bought my Samsung smart phone at Tracfone a few years ago. I’ve had an account with Tracfone for about 15 years, I guess. I have a monthly subscription that is automatically paid each month to Tracfone. Early this morning, I cancelled the auto-renewal of my smartphone. I may continue to pay for the service manually; however, I am concerned that my computer may also lose the free Internet service – and if that happens, I will not be able to stop the auto-renewal payments.
I also believe that Google has taken over control of my Samsung smartphone. And now that they control my phone, I believe they are preventing my free use of this building’s free Internet service to try to make me buy Internet service – but not from them. I do not have any paid subscriptions with Google – and never have had a paid subscription with Google for anything.
Every time I try to connect to the free Internet service that the housing authority provides, Google presents a window on my phone requesting that I sign in to my free Google Gmail account. So, with my tremoring fingers, I enter my email address and password and press Enter. Immediately, Google requests that I enter my email address and password again; so, I do so. And again, Google requests that I do so again. And I realize that I’m not being allowed to log-in – just as I am not being allowed to access the free Internet service here at the HUD high-rise where I live.
I do not want to start paying for Internet service here where I live – when it is free – just because Google is behaving like a bully-on-the-block – trying to make me give money every month to another Internet corporation – such as Cox or Verizon.
And I understand that, by writing and posting this to my blog, it may happen that my free Internet service for my computer may also be blocked. And then, I will have no Internet service at all.
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” -2 Peter 1: 3-4. ESV Study Bible.
For many years I had been paying Cox Communications every month — $70 for Internet service. And then things got “strange.” Cox stopped sending a receipt to me for my monthly auto-payments. They also stopped sending a reminder that my account would be charged. I was no longer receiving any emails from Cox Communications. Then Cox began sending letters by US Postal Service to me telling me that “they had hit a snag” and requested that I go to my online account with Cox to fix “something.” I went to my online account at Cox Communications – and found nothing wrong. The following month, the same thing happened again – no emails from Cox concerning my account – no email receipt from them concerning my monthly auto-payment of $70. And they sent another US Postal Service letter to me asking me to go to my online account and fix “whatever.” I went to my Cox account online again. There was nothing wrong. So, I decided to begin using the free Internet service that the housing authority provides to this HUD high-rise where I live. And I cancelled my personal Internet service with Cox.
