The Politics of Inequity – wealth for the Few – and Poverty for the Many – is a great evil.
It is destructive.

When I remember things from long ago
Sometimes it’s so heart-touching
I feel like Crying
But . . .
My crying is in silence
And then I imagine someone saying –
“Let it out.”
And I don’t know how to “let it out.”
Maybe it isn’t up to me to let it out.

My gut feels tight
And I imagine that “letting it out” will be like a great dam breaking
And the great rush of water will be such an overwhelming experience –
And then a song from long ago comes to mind:

I didn’t post the link to that fast-beat music because it doesn’t reflect how I feel.
I’m much more quiet and peaceful –
And lonely.
I don’t go to the beach anymore, either.
I only walk to the supermarket now.
It’s about a 23-minute walk each way.
And I stopped buying a gallon of milk because it weighs 8 pounds.
Which is quite heavy to carry for 23 minutes.
I still like walking to the supermarket and back home again.
It’s good exercise for me.
I buy a half-gallon of soy milk, instead.
The dam will be completely wiped out and washed away.
Maybe it’s entirely up to my Good Shepherd.
I’m only a sheep of His.
I can’t let it happen.
I can’t let go.
It seems cataclysmic
Annihilating
Very painful . . .
Terrifying —
Like stepping off a tight rope at ten thousand feet –
And you don’t feel like Superman
Or
Like a bird that can fly
So, just be strong –
And hold it all together
And continue on like that –
In sorrow and occasional emotional/physical pain —
But still in one piece.
Anything else seems like
Death
Very painful death
How can you tell someone on a tight rope
Don’t be afraid
Just step off in faith.
Jesus didn’t tell Peter as he was sinking,
Don’t worry, Peter
You’ll be fine –
And just let him sink in the waves and drown.
[I hope the following writing is not judging anyone. I’m only writing my thoughts.]
Maybe people lack empathy
Maybe they have no connection with the person they give such advice to.
Maybe they’re out of touch with Reality.
Maybe they’re in spiritual darkness.
Maybe they have a hardened heart —
And they’re in a state of unbelief —
Not born again.
Their hearts uncircumcised –
Only pretending to be helpers.

Many years ago, a social worker said to me, “You worship the Scriptures.”
I had never imagined such a thing.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” -2 Timothy 3: 16, 17. ESV Study Bible.
“And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” -2 Peter 1: 19-21. ESV Study Bible.
When we say a prayer of thanksgiving to God before we eat, we do not pray to and worship the recipe we followed to prepare the food. No. We are thanking the Living God who created all things – including the earth and the things that grow in and on His earth.
And we worship the One True God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who gave us the Scriptures.
Only by his Holy Spirit in our hearts – and by the Light of Christ — are we able to discern/understand these spiritual things. And the more we study and meditate on His Scriptures the more discerning and understanding we become – as we prayerfully grow up in Him –
Becoming His sons and His daughters . . .
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

May God be merciful to me, a sinner.
Maybe some think this writer is out of touch with Reality.
Maybe some think that believing the Scriptures is “out of touch with Reality.”
Maybe the world is “out of touch” with Reality.
Maybe the kingdom of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ are more real than the world that lies in wickedness.
