A Parable
I Can Only Imagine

A few minutes ago, I was in bed with my eyes closed
Wondering about a nice image to hold in my mind as I waited for sleep
A peaceful image
An infant’s face came into view for only a fleeting moment
Then I recalled an image recently seen while listening to the song
“I Can Only Imagine”
The image was mostly pink with a little blue
“Mostly Pink with a Little Blue” –
That sounds like a nice phrase for a title
And while listening to that hymn I was imagining the image was an image of
The USS Enterprise —
At warp speed heading for
The New Jerusalem Above –
The Heavenly Jerusalem –
That’s why the image was vague – The USS Starship Enterprise was going incredibly fast !
And the spaceship was filled with only true believers
In their hearts, each one had left the world that lies in wickedness behind them —
Its politics of Inequity
Its politics of Iniquity
Its artificial intelligence
Its artificial persons – corporations
Its corporate state
Its love of money
Its love of worldly power
Its worldly religions
Its worldly selfishness
Its worldly self-seeking
Its worldly self-centeredness

They were on a journey of repentance and faith in the only True God and His Heavenly Father –
By
The grace of God
And they were blessed by
His Holy Spirit
Filling their hearts with the joy of His Holy Spirit
And
The Love of God
Shed abroad in their hearts by His Holy Spirit
And they also had
The Peace of God
Shed abroad In their hearts by his Holy Spirit
Since they had left the world behind them.
They had a great sense of relief and release from all worldly cares.
They were washed clean in their hearts by their Savior’s Precious Blood –
And by the washing of regeneration by the Holy Spirit –
Whom Jesus sends into the hearts of those who truly believe in and on Him.
They were each given white robes to wear.
“He said, ‘Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days. But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.” -Daniel 12: 9-13. ESV Study Bible.
