“If Then the Light Within You Is Darkness . . .”
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” -Matthew 6:19-24. NIV Study Bible.
Who are the worldly leaders serving? Are they not serving the interests of the rich and powerful – the corporations? Who does Citizens United serve? Is it not wrong in the sight of God to give the Nation’s treasures to the rich and powerful – and tell the States of the United States of America, “You can declare bankruptcy.”? Are those in spiritual darkness unable to see that the whole host of heaven sees what they are doing?
The United States of America needs leaders who know and serve God in spirit and in truth.
“Jesus declared, “Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
“The woman said, ‘I know that Messiah (called Christ) is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.’
“Then Jesus declared, “I who speak to you am he.” -John 4:21-26. NIV Study Bible.
